It has been slow in coming due to galactic storm interferences, but with our latest algorithms we were able to decipher The Plans. Our Nexican home will accommodate our vibrations, libations, and playa incarnations with geometric resonance and flow. The committee is also in need of a creative illuminated third eye project approximately 3′x3′x as high as you can stabilize within our camp area. If you have something you’d like to share with your fellow Nexicans, let me know.

We are accepting art submissions for the Nexus camp sticker for 2011.  All submitted  entries will be posted for viewing on the website and voted on by the Nexus camp email group. We will print out a bunch of the winning design and give them out on the playa.

Designs must be submitted by Saturday August 16th at midnight.

Voting will begin Sunday August 17th and run till Saturday August 24th at midnight.

Designs should be 4 inches by 6 inches or smaller.All submissions should say “nexus” and “2011″ in the design somewhere.

We have just moved into the new Nexus Headquarters: a 4200 sq ft warehouse situated in a mysteriously secret location (Chico, Ca).
We have been planing and scheming our asses off for the last 8 months, coming up with the most diabolical plan we could muster, and now the time has come to execute that plan.

Phase 1: Fundraising
Rage it up with all of our folks at the Nexus Masquerade party July 29th at 1015 Folsom, SF. All of the artists have donated their time and proceeds go to help fund the Pyrosphere upgrades and transportation. Come Support!

Phase 2:Improvement
Perform numerous rebuilds and upgrades to the Pyrosphere. Highlights include: New torch-tip pilot lights, new and improved flame thrower mapping, powder coated legs and sphere (we’re already half way done with this one. picture below), make the remote control work with the ability to choose patterns and control speed.

Phase 3: Burning Man
Take all this shot out there and blow it up!

Just like last year, you can make your booze and mixer donation to the camp in 1 of 2 ways. Either bring in 2 jugs of booze and 4 jugs of mixer, or, make a $30 donation via paypal to the Booze Project and I will purchase and bring your donation in for you. We will have a list of everyone who donates via paypal, so at camp check-in we will know who has done what.

The Playa Restoration crew is back in the world… and after what surely is one of the most thankless jobs at Burning Man the results are in! While we were not perfect we KICKED SERIOUS MOOP ASS!!!! The theme camp (party area) received a yellow and the camping area received a GREEN!!!! Word on the Black Rock was that Nexus “put in the extra effort to clean up the biggest party on the Playa, and it really showed”! Nurse, of Playa Restoration (and color in-er of the official 2010 Moop Map) could not say enough good things about our efforts. Said he…. “The whole crew really appreciated what you guys did out there. Not only did you have huge parties every night, you really worked hard to clean up. It was a yellow but it was a much better effort than that color reflects. Thank you and pass that on to who needs to know!” So to all you crazy sexy Nexicans… YOU ROCK! Big ups to the whole late clean up crew staying until BLM threatened to give us all citations. One more day and we would have had green all the way! But like the saying goes .. “Burning Man was better next year!” So we can all give ourselves a pat on the back Nexicans for blownin it HUGE and cleanin it up after. (Except for the person who left a weeks worth of dirty socks in a dust drift… you should stay home. please.)
