But that’s not all, we decided that a rodeo fairgrounds without a single real cowboy would be a huge disappointment so we are seeking a professional calf roper to come and join us in the fist ever Hippy Roping Contest. Contestants will be required to adorn the traditional cow suit (with football gear), get all riled up on wheatgrass and chai in the chute, then when the gate opens, attempt to run away from the cowboy for as long as possible until eventually the cowboy lasso’s the hippy and slams him or her to the ground. Each hippy will be timed, and the hippy who manages to avoid the cowboy the longest will receive a $250 CASH PRIZE that will undoubtedly sustain the wandering nomad until the next festi.
NOTE: You do not have to be a “real” hippy to join.
